The fastest growing religious group in the United States is “the Nones,” those who are atheist, agnostic, or belonging to no particular religious tradition. Many of the “Nones” were baptized as Catholics. There is no formula to guarantee our children will remain practicing Catholics, no “hack” to make the handing on of faith simple and certain, but this challenge provides all Catholics, whether parents or not, the opportunity to think how to engage and teach our young, presenting them a vision of faith and holiness that is life-giving and attractive.
